Thumbs up Nothing like "finding" money...

I "found" some money this weekend Woo hoo! It wasn't actually found, it was earned by DH, but still didn't know it was coming!

DH's company gives out safety bonuses every couple of weeks. Well, in April, they decided to do away with them, so DH got his last direct deposited bonus check.

Well, what he neglected to tell me was that the union went to bat for them and got their safety bonuses back. Every week he gets his check, looks at it and tosses it in a basket. Well, every other week, he would get 2 paystubs, look at them and put them in the basket, assuming they were both direct deposit. Well, last week, he left them in the truck. I found them looked at the bonus check...it was an actual check!

Ever since April, they have been giving them an active check for the bonuses! So I started digging and found a TON of bonus checks that DH had assumed were direct deposit and I didn't know about!

So I have a stack of checks here to go deposit today! Woo hoo! Kind of a bonus too, becuase if they had been direct deposit they would have gone into checking and probably been spent...at least now, I can drop them right into savings!

Well, I ended up not tipping them. They were supposed to be here on Wednesday...they didn't show up & didn't call, so I was ticked. When I finally called them, they said they would be out Thursday...didn't show, called them about noon and they said they would be out on Friday (4th of July holiday). They finally showed up on Friday and were here all day and we had to cancel our annual BBQ becuase we couldn't use our backyard. So by then I wasn't in a tipping mood!

I felt a little bad, but then I was talking to one of the guys and found out that they were working "off the books" and they got to keep the cash that I handed over, so I didn't feel quite so bad after that!

I don't blame you one bit, I wouldn't have been either! If they aren't paying taxes, they made plenty anyway.
