Sad news * a little long
Here's the background:
My cousin and I are as close as sisters. We both have endometriosis, althought hers is much much worse than mine. When she got married, she and her husband tried for 3 years to get pregnant, on their own, then with fertility treatments, then finally, they went thru IVF which gave them 9 embryos. They implanted 2, were pregnant, and had gorgeous twin boys at 30 weeks, who just turned 2 on June 10th. 2 of the leftover embryos died, and the other five were put in storage as they couldn't bring themselves to let them go.
She has since had 1 3/4 ovaries removed due to complications with endo. A couple of months ago they decided to try again, and with her being in optimal health, the doctors were confident if they could get her pregnant, she would remain so. So she started a hormone regimen and without telling anyone as they had been thru too much "so are you pregnant yet?" the last time, they had the embryos thawed, and looked forward to another transfer. 3 of the embryos didn't survive, so they only had 2 left. These were implanted, and a month later, yay...pregnant with twins again.
She called me this morning crying. She is losing both of them at about 6 weeks. When she went to the emergency they tested her levels and it's gone. Last week she was 140. They told her to go home and wait for it to happen. She's so upset...it's terrible.
I feel so very awful for her. Anytime a pregnancy is lost it's terribly sad, but it's the finality that makes this so much worse. Other couples can try again, but due to the circumstances, they can't. Nor could they afford to go thru the entire process again. I'm so sad for her...it's awful. They were so very excited, and she is just so devestated. All she ever wanted was to be a mother, and yes she has her twins, but that doesn't make it hurt any less. I'm very worried that she is going to be terribly depressed after it's all over because she wanted it so badly.
Anyway, no one really knows, and the whole thing is so sad. She's not going to tell our friends and family other than her parents right now. It's just so sad, and I hope that you can all send her some good vibes, or for those who pray to pray for her and her family. I don't really know what else I can do to try to help her other than ask for prayers, and be there for her.

I'm so sorry to hear about that. I had 2 miscarriages and it hurt so deep that you will never forget it. It's been 10 years for my first miscarriage and 6 years for my second one but everytime I think about it, it saddens me so deeply. I think of what could have been, if it was a boy or girl or they would have been in school..........I send my prayers to them.

I'm so sorry to hear this! Losing children is just so devestating. Of course I'll be happy to be offering a prayer for her and the family, but also for you that you'll be able to find the right words to bring her comfort somehow. But even more importantly that you'll be there when she needs a lending ear. Sounds like she has a deep trust for you and is very much depending on that closeness you both share!

I'm so sorry and am praying for her and the family. So sad. Just keep being there for her when she wants to talk and it's really all you can do.
