Travel to Canada - a question
I'm going to preface this by stating that my mom and step-father are a little anal and tend toward overreaction.
My mother has always dreamed of taking a vacation to the Maritime Provinces of Canada. My step-father has finally retired and so they planned to go this summer as a pre-60th birthday present to my mother. They were set to leave today for a three week trip. On Friday, July 4th they were reading some things online and came across a website that discussed how Canada is cracking down on not allowing anybody with a conviction on their record, even a misdemeanor, into the country.
Suddenly they (step-father) had to cancel the trip. Why? because he has a traffic conviction from 4 years ago. He ran a stop sign and plead guilty, because he did it. I told them to call someone in Canada to get the real answer, but they didn't.
So, someone in Canada tell me if they would really not let anyone in the county if they have a traffic conviction? I just feel so bad for my mother. She now thinks that she will never be able to travel to the Maritime Provinces.
ThanksAmy

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

This is the article that caused them to cancel the trip.
Greebo, I checked out the site you linked and I've been to a couple others and none of the rest mention traffic convictions. I an understand he not allowing violent criminal histories or even drug offenses (trying to stop drug trafficking), but bad driving.
ThanksAmy
