Hello again

I'm not exactly new, but haven' been here in a really long time. Since then, I have gotten divorced, lived on my own, dated up a a storm and found a wonderfull man, with whom I now live.
And now I find myself needing to tighten up the budget, because I am planning to go back to school. I'm in an industry (newspapers) that is rapidly shrinking and leaving thousands of employees by the wayside. It is a matter of time before my job is either gone or severely downsized, so I'm getting out!
I will leave that job in mid-August, start school and need to find a part-time job. I know it will not pay what I am making now. And I have to pay for my own tuition and books (eek!). So, I will be regularly searching these forums for penny pinching ideas and ways to stretch everything! Any advice, encouragement or kick in the pants is welcome! My B/F is not frugal, but willing to learn!
Glad I've got this place to come to talk to like-minded, frugal folks.

Welcome back smart lady who's planning ahead and getting her ducks in a row. My biggest advise is to find out what textbooks you need as far in advance as possible so you can buy them as cheaply as you can. College book prices can be killer if you can't shop ahead.
