Nick hotel for next Feb vacation?
Has anyone ever been to the Nickelodeon Hotel in Florida? If so, any info you'd like to pass along that would be helpful? Any good websites to get info? Any frugal tips? All would be greatly appreciated. We have a 8 year old and a six year old and we're thinking about doing Seaworld and Universal Studios.

I stayed at the Nick a few months back and had a great time! My husband, my 6 year old son and I were visiting Orlando to do all the parks and decided to stay at the Nick Hotel. We were all so glad we decided to stay there instead of a Disney resort or some other off property.
They have two large pools that resemble a waterpark. Each afternoon in the main pool, they have a giant group sliming where a huge bucket tips over and drenches everyone. It was so much fun! They also had people called the Splat Pack (I think) roaming around the hotel and doing crazy things. They were pretty much a roving comedy act. My son had a great time. There was a mini golf course and a huge arcade to play in.
We got to meet Dora, Diego, Spongebob, and Patrick at the character breakfast, which was a ton of fun. It was really inexpensive too! We had been looking at possibly doing a character breakfast at Disney, but it was way too expensive. It was much more convenient and cheaper to do it in the hotel and I think we got to spend more time with the characters than we would have at one of the parks.
When we did go to the parks, we used their shuttle service. Make sure you get a shuttle schedule when you check in so you can plan your days. We saved a ton of money by taking their shuttles instead of a taxi or renting a car. The shuttles were really nice and always on time, which was great. I think the Nick serves as a perfect in-between hotel between all three parks (Disney, SeaWorld, and Universal); a definite good location.
I think one of the best things about staying at this hotel was actually missing out on a park day to just spend some time at the hotel. There were so many things for my son to do, and he had a blast! It gave my husband and I a chance to just relax while he had fun. They offer tons of activities to keep kids entertained for hours so I was really glad we could all just have a great time hanging around the hotel. It really saved us some serious cash by not having to pay for 3 admissions for a park for a day.
All in all, it's definitely a fun and kid-friendly hotel. I guess if you wanted to find out even more about it you could check out their website. I believe it's just NickHotel.com.
I hope I was helpful!
