Would you rather 7/9/08
Would you rather win one hundred thousand dollars at age 20 or win ten million dollars at age 60?

10 million at age 60. Instant retirement.
Looking back at age 20, a long time ago, I would have blown that 100K and by the time I reached age 60 I would still have to work.Russ

10 million at age 60. My gut was to say $100,000 at age 20, because then I could invest it and watch it grow, but the truth is that if I had won $100,000 at age 20, it would all be gone know because I didn't know then what I know now.
However, if, at age 60, I won 10 million dollars??? Oh, I would set up accounts for grandchildren to make sure college was paid for, dh and I would retire (obviously), we would help our kids out with stuff and invest a bunch to help us live comfortably through our old age.My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

I say the 10 million at age 60. Although 100,000 at age 20 wouldve been nice for payment on house. I chose age 60. That way no worries until I die!

I pick millions at age 60. I would set up accounts for retirement and college for kids. Age 20 money would have been gone before I was 25.

~$100,000 at age 20. I got married when I was 20 so I could have used it to pay off the car loan we had at the time and the mortgage. And there would have been enough leftover for a 6 month EF. No house or car payment would've saved $9200 every year. That(and the extra $ saved from living frugally)is enough to max out contributions to 2 retirement accounts and have a vacation every year and fund the kid's college accounts and make home improvements. I probably wouldn't have 10 million at age 60 but we'd only need 1 million to retire comfortably anyway.~

$100K at 20. Since I got married when I was 20, that money would have really helped us out. It could rid us of our debt, and then we'd be able to save for retirement much much easier.
