Question How Bad Would This Make Me?

I know its wrong to do this but with the cost of everything going up w/o the pay increase to support the cost paired with the fact that the things I'd like to nosh on are not available there.....how bad would it be for me to sneak my dinner into the drive in theatre?

The reason why I am asking is b/c I'm contemplating going this weekend but I dont usually get too hungry until the sun goes down in the summer and thats usually when the movies start - at dusk. I can't eat at home and then make it over to the drive in on time...its physically not possible. The speeding ticket wouldn't be worth it.

Also, I was wondering...what are some great "non smelly" (aka non obvious) foods that are great for being snuck into the drive in theatre?

Now don't get me wrong...I always stay for the second movie. Gotta get my moneys worth! Its guaranteed that I'd be getting a drink and popcorn for the 2nd movie after I visit the stand in the 1/2 hr long line up to use the restrooms. Who can resist the smell of popcorn!? *drools*

So...how bad would that make me for wanting to sneak in my dinner? What are your thoughts on this? Do you do this? (How do you do this?)

I rarely ever go to the movie theatre. I can understand why some people do it as the prices for snacks at the movies are overpriced.

I don't think it would be a problem...I take candy into the regular movie theater.

Can you bring a sandwich and salad? Or maybe soup in a thermos?

I haven't been to a drive-in in YEARS, but I bet other people do this too.

We just went to the movies Saturday because we had a gift card. I didn't want to waste the whole thing on one trip, because that's just how I roll. Frugal, even with gift cards. So, I snuck in dinner, drinks, snacks, and dessert all in one bag. My purse is actually a really big tote bag, so I was able to fit a couple a bottles of water, a can of coke for DH, two big bags of M&Ms (regular for me, PB for DH), a bag of popped popcorn from the target cafe ($1 for delicious popcorn, or $5 for gross popcorn, delicious wins!) and DH got a meal from Del Taco for his dinner. I was nervous because you could totally smell the tacos, but no one said anything! So anyways, yes we do take food/drinks into the movies!

As for non smelly foods, you could try a simple sandwich, like turkey/cheese and whatever veggies you like. Skip going to subway or something like that because their subs are very fragrant! A bag of chips or something too, wouldn't smell. Basically anything sealed well should be fine. How well do they inspect your car when you're going to the drive-in?

We sneak candy into the movies but there aren't any drive ins around here. I would think that you could take things in there even possibly a cooler - maybe in the trunk.

We can't afford to go to the theater.

Something funny - I sell Avon and we have a new fragrance coming that is to go with the new bond movie - fragrance is going to be called "Bond Girl 007". Anyway, the fragrance is going to come out with movie tickets to the film. LOL DH said to order the fragrance as a tester for the business so we can go to the movies. LOL

Here you can take food and drink to the drive in. I don't think they would inspect your car.

That's the way I feel. I'd take sandwiches and chips along with something sweet. I wouldn't feel too bad--you're buying popcorn from them, they make enough money on that.

Our drive in allows outside food. If you're concerned about the rules, you could always call and ask what their policy is. That way, you will know for sure if you are breaking the rules, and hide your stuff accordingly.

Here, our Drive Inn politely asks you not to bring in food.

They charge $5.00 per adult (for 2 movies) and children 12 and under are free. A bargain!!

Before the movie starts they show a short film, about the expense of obtaining first run movies and how they want to keep the drive inn open, as there are very few left in the United States, and the way they can keep their prices so affordable is if we support their concession stand.

I think their prices are very reasonable, $3 for a bucket of popcorn, $1.50 for large soda, $1 candy bars. So we don't bring food in.

Call the DRive Inn and ask if they have a policy?

    Have fun! I love it!

I don't think it would be bad at all.

Growing up we had a drive in just a few blocks away.
As teenager we where always sneaking in beer. LOL

Those prices are absolutely reasonable! If I could get popcorn soda and candy at the movie theater for a little over $5 I would never sneak food in! And dropping $15 for DH and I to have a nice date would not be a big deal to me. I wish we had a drive in here.

I don't see a problem with taking along something on the lighter side like maybe cheese and crackers and drinks.
