I'm in WITHDRAWAL!..
Sadly ladies and gents, I have to admit..I have an addiction to diet pepsi. I have to have some first thing in the morning or last thing at night. I have made the decision to rid my body of this nastiness by going cold turkey two days ago..my head hurts, my skin itches, and I'm as nervous as a Rooster in a hen house. On the other hand..I'm taking advantage of all the sugar free koolaid that I picked up at Walmart on sale two weeks ago..no more pepsi for me..no more..no more.....no more no more...

I'm addicted to Coke, so I know what you're talking about. Stopped once, but just love the taste and started right back up.
Be strong! If you start craving one later on at night - just go to bed. Sleep is the one place where cravings don't seem to win!

I couldn';t deal without my diet soda (usually diet pepsi but sometimes diet A&W rootbeer). I don't drink coffee or tea. Though I do not drink it every day, there's some days where I drink way too much. Like I haven't had any in 2 days, so I will probably bring up a 2 liter tonight so I can have a glass. I limit myself to 3 2-liters a week (which I buy on sale for $1 of course)Sometimes it's only 2. a 2 liter will last me 2-3 days if no one else in the family decides to drink any.
But you're doing great!! Keep it up.

Woo Hoo! Congratulations. I quit drinking soda earlier this year, too. It was hard, but it was worth it. I quit smoking a few years ago and it was one of those things that I held onto and I decided I had to let it go. Good for you and keep it up!!!

I'm addicted too; I know that health-wise and financially I need to give it up, but the thought fills me with dread. 2 years ago I gave up regular pepsi, and it was so easy. I switched to water, and didn't look back. Then last year I picked up the diet at christmas because I wanted pop over the holidays and I was hooked in no time.
Good for you for getting rid of it!!

We're in the same boat! I decided soda was eating up too much of our budget, so I stopped three days ago. I have the worst headache! Hang in there, it's got to get better!

Mercy do I understand the soda addiction...Hello, my name is _______ and I am a Dr. Pepperaholic!!!
With the price of soda now I rarely buy any but then find myself driving to the nearest convience store to buy myself a fountain soda! I do tend to stock up when I can find it on sale.
Good luck to you!!!

I am addicted to Diet Pepsi as well. I have found recently that I LOVE Diet Mt. Dew! Can't live without the pop...I hate milk and juice, love my soda and coffee and tea. I tried to give it up a few times, I just can not handle the headaches I get, my head hurts so bad that I literally can't see right. I do drink water, but not like I should.

I too was addicted to Pepsi. Could go thru a 2 liter bottle in two days. I can say right now, I've not had Pepsi in almost 2 weeks. It does get easier. I am drinking alot of iced sweet tea and water. Now DH and I are cutting down the sugar in the sweet tea.

Sorry about the headache. Can you drink some iced tea or a cup of hot tea to relieve it? It is from the caffiene in the sodapop.
I used to have a 2-ltr a day habit. I drink a cup or two (or three or four if I get up early enough) of hot tea in the mornings. I have a huge stockpile of it in the pantry and it needs used up. I would drink iced tea, but I just don't like it.Beak-1996, Toad-1998, and Q-1998

YEAH!!!!!!!!

I am so happy you decided to give up that acid.
It's the caffeine withdrawals. Going cold turkey is tough to do.
When I weaned off coffee - I drank green tea. I purchased a fine blend of green tea - and drank and drank and drank.
I started noticing that... WOW! I feel good!
I hope that YOU are starting to feel good.
HANG IN THERE!!
