My house has no fabulous architecture to it, so i would have to say the thing most people comment on is my decor. They are like you have such neat stuff and the majority of the time it came from a yard sale!
My family also knows I love prim items so gifts are usually things I want for my house!

In our house it would be the dog that howls like a wolf when she wants to play.

gg,
Our home is a better homes and gardens home. They used too and as far as I still know still do have blueprints every month of different types of houses that you can purchase for a few hundred dollars. Thus skipping the big pay out of having a house designed for you. The original owners of the home purchased a blue print for a Ranch style home, which was very popular the late 40's and into the 50's.
Because of the the obvious flaw of Ranchers being super tiny they decided to maximize kitchen space by making it Galley style. Which is long and narrow. There is a drop in stove top and a small wall oven. Thermadro brand. Stainless steel. No new parts made, when we need repairs the repair man must go to a graveyard of old appliances for parts. The end of the kitchen is a built in table with benches. Seats 4. A crazy space ship looking light hangs above the table. All counters are Coca-cola red. I have a bunch of Coca-cola stuff as decor. Tiles are white small squares. No finish, must be waxed and buffed.
Wish I had some pictures to share(Dixie). Thought you might like these links. Both from the same site, different pages. One of the pages has thumb nails you click on and it will give you a bigger view of each kitchen. I hope these help give you some ideas. Good luck on your kitchen gg.

First, I get the "Boy, ya'll sure are far out in the country!'. That's a given.
In the house, I'd have to say the collection of stuffed squirrels; deer heads and antlers; bobcat, fox, and one huge beaver pelt (framed). I can't forget the small preserved alligator!
If it's my stuff, it would have to be the collection of Angels or the collection of Santas that I've accumulated over the years.

My best conversation piece?
ME!!
Some might say I'm a 'piece of work' so, I guess I could say I'm a conversation piece.
I love to talk with you.
"Sit! Tell me all about it!
"Oh yes! that is amazing!
"You did what?.. tell me more.. oh please! this get's better
"hahaha!! you're so funny! What a great wit you have!"
And the person leaves feeling all full of themselves... aching to come back for more conversation pieces.

I'd have to say my ginormous picture of Jim Morrison over my couch in the living room. Its the first thing ya notice. Tee Hee!!
Not many people have commented though because only THREE people other than dh have ever been in my "nest".
I do not like/enjoy/want/need company. It tires me out and I feel like my nest has been violated."That which does not kill us makes us stronger."

1) My amazing doggy, of course.
2) As far as furniture, I have a huge 6-feet long pine sideboard in my living room. I found it at a consignment store for $325. I love it, and people always comment on how they have never seen anything like it before.
3) Our views. We live in a heavily wooded area, I have a set of three French doors in the living room that look out into the woods. It really is pretty.~Amanda~
