Default This has been a horrible horrible day.

We were supposed to have closing on the new house this morning, then we were going to move. I transferred all utilities, so that they would be cut off today, they are all on at the new house, etc... WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL. Closing was moved at the last minute to Tuesday! Now, mind you, we are all packed, and ready to go, only a few things left out, no food, pantry packed, etc. etc. I quick called cable, electric, water... Everything was okay, nothing shut off yet, until 1:30. Water went off................. called office, located exactly 2 blocks away.

Secretary at water co. answers, I ask about water and that I had called earlier. She said, sorry it was shut off because so and so didn't tell the guy. Okay. Can guy come back and turn it on. Meanwhile I hear all the guys in the background goofing off and laughing, no real work going on. She says. NO, sorry, too late int he day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said when can it be turned on. She said Monday I say, you mean my family and I have to go all weekend with no water? She says "Unfortunately yes". That's all. I hung up.

We have a hose running from the neighbor's house, Isn't this fun!!! Meanwhile, dh gets sick with the flu, and you know how they can't handle being sick!!!!! So, I get on computer to relax, BAM, computer, tv, and phone, all off. Call the cable co. get them fixed.

I have such a headache. I'm so discouraged, angry, upset and tense!!!!!!
    Please send good thoughts!!!!!!

I'm so sorry this is happening. I think I would of called and asked for a supervisor..... If so and so forgot to tell someone, then they should go out and turn it back on themselves! Hope DH is feeling better.

Ugh. Julie, what a DAY! Those 'everything is going wrong that could possibly go wrong' days are bad enough, but when it is all centered around moving day!!! OMG.

Nice of them to give you so much notice about the change in closing. People are just so thoughtless! I'll bet they knew way before they told you.

Oh how stressful this day was for you. The last thing you need on moving day is all this extra crap that came down with it. I can't imagine holding it together on the phone with the water company. I have to admit though, for as stressful as it is, it is an adventure you and your family will be talking about 30 years from now. "Do you remember when we .........." Good luck with the closing on Tuesday and congratulations.

My dh works for the city water dept in our town....that would not have happened here! Someone would have made sure that you had water over the weekend. Shame on them! On the flip side...you could always pretend that you are camping out in your house!! A staycation, they call them...lol This is just a blip in time...someday you'll laugh about it, even though it's not too funny right now!

I'm sorry, Julie. What a bummer of a day! Just keep thinking about your new house. Sending good thoughts to help you make it through the weekend and I hope your DH feels better soon.

*hugs* i'm sorry its been such a bad day

Atleast your neighbor was nice enough to share their water with you over the weekend. got to love when the utilities companies pay attention to when you ask to change over instead of just flipping it off when they feel like it.

Boy, I can relate to being without water -- it was 80 hours when Ivan passed through.

You may have already considered this or it may be completely irrelevant, but everywhere I have lived, we could turn the water on and off ourselves. It might take a wrench, but it was simply a matter of turning the valve under the cover. Is yours locked?

Moving can be so stressful without added problems.

Have an extra cup of coffee -- caffeine helps my headaches.
