Default DH is writing a test today....

...to get into the union plumbing apprentice program!! I'm so nervous/anxious/excited for him. I hope he really does well. Its a mechanical aptitude test and we've spent the last few days studying for it every chance that we can get (he was studying, I was helping him). He thinks its quite funny that I sent him with 8 pages of notes to study from, a pack of pencils, extra paper and some breakfast, and got him out the door so he will be an hour early...lol. If he passes the aptitude test then the next step is the interview and then he's got it...I really, really hope he gets it...he needs this!

Just wanted to let that out because I'm so nervous...lol
    Debts

    Good luck to him!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I hope he does well. That's a pretty lucrative career!

I was friends with a guy while he was doing his plumbers apprenticeship. Hearing his stories about being bottom of the totem pole, well, I'll just say to your hubs, good luck with all the poop! lol

Just a little food for thought - more for him than you, so feel free to show him this if you want.

You said you helped him study. This is a big deal - and I hope he's man enough to realize that you are a big factor in his success.

Which is why he needs to treat you like a partner, not a freeloader, when it comes to household finances. Because its not his and her income, its OUR income, its not his and her house, its OUR house, and its not his and her life, its OUR life.

Greebo, your so right.... at least in our home this is how the finances are treated.

Rachel, Keeping you and DH in my thoughts and prayers that all went well.

Congrats on getting in to take the test!

I know exactly how nervous you are. For DH, to get his union job, it was a physical test. And not a can you lift it, it was...we're gonna hook you up to these monitors and see if while your lifting all this stuff, your heart can handle it.

I was a ball of nerves! The worst part, was that it took so long to find out the results. So, hopefully, you guys will find out quickly how he did! I'm sure if you were helping him study, then he did a great job!

Keep us posted when you hear!

I hope your DH had a great test. When will you get the results. I am keeping my fingers crossed for him.
