Default Weather finally found us (Kinda long)

As anyone that lives in Pa knows, it's been hot and humid here forever or so it seems. We thankfully missed out on all the bad storms...................until last night. We thought we were in for a tornado the way the winds were. The neighbors tree was at the breaking point. I"m 49 and it's been there longer than I have been around. Anything in the yard not tied down went flying and all my onions and corn was laid over. There was actually a path you could follow where the wind went. So out I go with a shovel in my bare feet and procede to mud up the corn. By the time I was done I had mud caked all over my feet. so I did what ever other country girl would do... I went and stood in the driveway or what used to be the driveway and washed my feet. Meanwhile my dh was out with a shovel damming up and rerouting water in shorts and high rubber camo boots. We were a sight. My feet sure are soft today lol. Uh oh I hear thunder again. Here we go again.

The storm I heard earlier went right around us. It hit 8 miles to us one way and 20 miles the other with hail, wind and rain. Glad it didn't get us again

Yikes, I just got home from Shpippensburg, PA, and I am so...glad that I missed those storms. I am kinda afraid of them. I was in a tornado once in IN, and have been scared every since of storms. I am glad thatyou are safe, and I hope there wasn't too much damage.

Glad you are ok. I too was a mud mess and fell a couple times. Had to hose myself down (after a fall in the garden mud)and strip before I could come in the house one time. Bruised the bottom of one foot too, running around barefoot trying to keep the water flowing where I wanted it to. More fun to deal with all the water in the summer than when there is still snow on the ground. believe me, I know.

I know what you mean about the way you looked, sometimes you just have to laugh. One of the looks that cracks me up with dh is him in a bathrobe, baseball cap, flashlight & rubber boots checking to see how the creeks doing.

I live close to the PA border and we got some big storms yesterday and we got a lot of rain from yesterday afternoon till about 11AM today. But, the sun is shining now. It is nice that I don't have to water my garden and flowers though.

I love it when it rains! I too am in PA, in Bethlehem to be exact... I look forward to the rain because it's been so hot and humid lately... they say it's supposed to rain all weekend... I better get my rain barrel in order
