    Default Never hurts to ask...

My son is a Type 1 Diabetic. Each year he goes to camp just for diabetic kids. This year starts on Sunday. As some of you have seen in my other post, DH is being laid off. I called the director of the camp and told her that we had the money (365.95), but it would be nice if I didn't have to pay THAT much. She got some info from me and I now will only have to pay 41.95... We qualified for a 90% camper scholarship!!! YAY!! Never hurts to ask.....

On the subject of camping... My DD(14) has been given two scholarships to two camps (these scholarships had NOTHING to do with money, they just really like her)... One is called "Culture Jam", which is a overnight camp for 8 days and they do everything from art to preforming arts, singing and leadership training....The other is a day camp (5 days) where they learn about different water activities like, sailing, canoeing, kyaking and the like. All this is free. She didn't sign up for either of them. The Parks and Recreation people who she is volunteering under said that she is one of their favorites, and she deserved to go to these camps... YAY!!!!

So with my other son going to Church camp, and DS1 also went last week, I will have only paid 41.95 for a total of 5 camps... Grandma paid for Church camp for both boys... This has saved me a total of about 1200.00 or more!!!!!!! Can you belive this????? WOWOWOWOWOW!!

Great deal! I hope they have fun, and I hope it takes some pressure off, if at least for now.

My DH works for the Boy Scouts. They too offer a "Camper Ship" for the parents that can't quite afford to send their child to camp. Not many people know about these programs. It is a really good idea to ask the camp progam directors if they offer these programs. Many camps do. I'm glad you asked and I'm really glad you will be able use it. Good for you.
