Can I share my first day on the job after the SAHM years
Well some of you know I deal with major insomnia. I fell asleep around 3 am this morning(and lights were out at 10,,aarrgh) and got up at 5 am. Two hours of sleep I had...That was my major fear of anxiety was a big lack of sleep, but more of it was my sons first day ever away from me in over a year. I just went on adrenalen(sp lol)
To make a really long story short..We dropped my son off at the babysitters at 6:15 am. He did really great and I gave him his favorite blanket and a couple of his stuffed animals to take so he would feel a little secure..
Uuugh, I worked from 7 am till 6 pm today. Some may think 11 hours is a cakewalk but not for my first day on the job. lol I came home and jumped in a bubble bath! I can't believe how sore I am.(yes it is labor somewhat and I am out of shape. lol)
My husband is my boss and I sure did not get half of the things I was told to do this morning and almost wanted to cry....but I stuck with it and got it and learned it and had a really great day! Okay I am a little special because I got the job working for my dh...but you have no idea what a big leap this was for me to take.,especially since I deal with anxiety disorder so bad.
I can really see the balance that will happen for our family...
My self esteem will go up because I get out of the house...
My child will get to be around other kids and my sixteen year old missed me today.lol
No cooking on those nights and dh actually cooked his meal because I was so tired.( I forgot to take a pic) That was a first. lol It will be a nice balance.
Money...oh this will help when I see that pay check in my name directly deposited. I am helping towards our debt.
I am rambling...I know...
My point is that for any SAHM that wants to try to adventure out again even if it is part time....it ain't so bad..and it might be very rewarding...
All I can say is it gave myself a big boost as I deal with depression sometimes...
Also me and my dh are close too. I told him how sexy he looked on that latter today and telling people nicely how to do there job...lol
Do I have a point???
Yes....If you have a fear of part time...just DO IT! It's not so bad.. It can be a great balance to your family.
Now I am looking forward to being with my kiddos tommorow. Balance is nice.
Done rambling.

Working out of the house is good for you sometimes. I hope you are trying a part time first. It will be hard at first.

Way to go, Palooka! Getting a sixteen yr old to miss you is no small accomplishment! I hope you're able to get more sleep as the week wears on. One thing I've noticed is that when I'm truly physically tired, I sleep much more soundly.

i am about to go thru this myself. after 7 years of being a stay at home mom, come august i will start working again. granted its only from 7:30 till 12:30 mon-fri but the thought of not being a sahm frightens me for some reason. its a job at the school so i know i'll be off the same days as my son, i'll always be home in plenty of time to get him but then i start thinking of field trips and school activities and all the things i'll miss, argh.
sorry for highjacking, just had to get that out.
