Postal Service
Hubby is Letter Carrier and was telling me yesterday about a story about something managment wants to do. Many of you probably know that the USPS wants to go to 5 day delivery instead of 6 to cut costs. They already don't deliver on Sundays, guess what other day they want to suspend delivery. Once again managment shows how DUMB they are. This still has to be approved by the government so isn't a done deal.
Go ahead & guess, I'll give you the answer in a bit.~*Darlene*~

Unbelievable...I can understand needing to cut back...just about every company/establishment is in one form or another but this is a bit much, IMO.

i would assume saturday?
11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I would say Monday or Wed., although Sat. or Monday would be the best choice unless they are wierd and don't want to have 2 day's in a row with no delieveries.

I'm guessing Saturday. I'd prefer not to have 2 days in a row with no deliveries, but I believe Canada already does this.
Edited to say: I don't see how they could remove a weekday delivery because of businesses. But maybe that why it doesn't make sense?Last edited by The Muse; 07-26-2008 at 08:59 AM.

Mondays...I'm guessing this because it makes no sense and, based on reading your post, their decision doesn't make sense.

Most people think of the business week as Mon-Fri. & many businesses are closed Sat.
Managment wants Wednesday. wth? Right smack dab in the middle of the business week. What does that help?~*Darlene*~

I was going to say Wednesday but didnt see this post till now. Guess they want workers on 2 days, off 1, on 3 days, off 1. Makes no sense as many businesses are open M-F, so taking out mail delivery on Wednesday's might actually cost them in the long run since then everyone will begin using FedEx, DHL, UPS., etc.

Oh, man, I hope they don't pick a weekday - I work for a non-profit and we rely heavily on the client payments that come in the mail each day just to keep our account in the black.
