    Default Had Fun Today!

Today we woke up a little early, and I made breakfast and then we were trying to decide what to do. We thought of taking DS to the park, but I get tired of that. Sometimes, I take him to the pet store and let him look at the fish and birds and lizards. Well, that's all fine and great, but you don't get to touch them! I asked DH to look online and see if there is a petting zoo around here. I know there is one at the fair that's going on right now, but it's $8 each to get in to the fair, plus it's about 20 miles away. Not to mention all the tempting fair food!

So DH looks online, and he found a petting zoo! Not too far away either. So I grabbed the cash out of the change jar, and off we went. $5 each for me and DH and $3 for DS. Plus $1 for a big basket of carrots. They had an area with goats, and another area with bunnies and guinea pigs. They also had other animals to look at. Pony rides, and a little train ride. We didn't do the rides, because they cost extra. As a bonus, there was a reptile guy there today just for an hour with all different reptiles, and it was free with petting zoo admission. DS loved the big tortoises!

Not exactly cheap, but $14 isn't so bad. I didn't have to take it out of the bank, just out of the jar. That's our rainy day money anyway. As a bonus, DS got a little stamp card and after he goes 7 times you get one free child and adult admission, free train ride, and free carrot basket. It never expires, so I'll definitely hold onto that.

    Here are some pictures!

Cute pictures! $14 is not bad at all for a day of fun for the family. It looks like your little guy had a blast.

Aww, that's so cute! We take the kids once a year to the Calgary Zoo but it's like 50 dollars for four people. We're taking my mom to the zoo when she comes here and I took the kids last year during Halloween. Thanks for sharing.

It looks like he had a wonderful time! I would love to do something like that here for kids to see and be around the animals. The pictures turned out great!

You might want to check and see if your zoo has a yearly membership. Last year we signed up for the one here in San Diego, and it was $80 for the two of us, and DS gets in free. We could go to the zoo AND their other park, which is the Wild Animal Park for the whole year. It even came with a couple of guest passes. At $18 per person to get in, it was a deal. We probably went about 7 or 8 times that year.

Yes. They had toothbrushes and spray bottles for all the turtles and tortoises so the kids could wash them. DS loved it!
