    I hate that the elderly just don't seem to get any breaks..For some its meds or meals.

    this also makes me sad, my mom is 81, legally blind, has had 7 femural bypasses, breast cancer, thyroid surgery, and the list goes on, she needs every break she can get

    That is sad, elderly on fixed income, need and deserve every break they can get. Meals on wheels can be a wonderful program though and the one that I know of has wonderful food. However, there is a "suggested donaton of 3.50" and many willingly pay this because they can also get extra meals to put in the refrig. because cooking is simply no longer an option. But, too often this is the only social interaction many elderly get on a daily basis.
