    Arrow Go above and beyond

I thought this would be a fun little activity. Do something extra special for someone today. Something that goes above and beyond politeness and what is expected of you. This can be done at home, at work, the grocery store, wherever. Just do something extra special out of kindness.

Come back and post what you did. If you really want to, you can post what the person's reaction was and how it made you feel. Have fun!

we (dh and I ) took green beans, new potatoes, corn on the cob, zucchini and a tomato to the 12 senior citizen apartments in town.

Most of them I just hung on the doors. . . I did knock on a few doors of the people I know personally. They thanked me profusely (especially since I still can't walk), and gladly accepted the fresh produce.

Our little town's grocery store closed last week, so it's harder for these people to get food now.

We plant things specifically for giving away -- so some zucchini plants are ear marked for gifting, a row of sweet corn, etc.

    Aww...that's so sweet.

Mine wasn't that big of a deal...I struck up a conversation with the cashier when I ran into Walgreens today. Normally I just say, "Hi", then pay and get out of there. I actually took the time to talk today...we chatted about kids...prices...all kinds of stuff. It was really nice.

I was doing my merchandising job yesterday and an elderly lady using a walker asked me if I worked there. I told her no but asked what she needed help with. She couldnt get down to reach something on the bottom shelf so I went and got it for her and a couple other things. She was so pleased to have the help when there wasnt a staff employee in sight!

I baked an extra batch of cookies for a friend who is feeling down. And I cleaned my DD's bedroom for her-she is due home today after a week of volunteering at a camp for disabled children.

I had a client having a bad day and threw a free style in with her haircut.
Another little goofy thing I like to do is just leave the quarter in the shopping cart at Aldi's for the next person.

It's early here, yet. But I'm in; I have eggs to deliver to some of our church families around here. I also need to pick peas and take them to the couple down the road. They do not have a garden because he has multiple health issues and cannot work. She has to hold down a job and take care of him all the time. We are giving them enough vegetables to can for the upcoming year.
