    Default Phone book (bored)

    OK so everyone was a sleep this morning so I thought I would count the names in our town-country phone book, yup a whole page and 3/4!! in our section. We have 2 types of phone books, 1 by towns and another by area we live. 137 names and a few people with more then one line and a few electric emergancy numbers. That took me a whole min. to figure out.

    Back home, (OC, Ca.) the phone books were usally in 2 and about 3 in. thick a piece, now that was 15 years ago so I am sure they are a little different by now.

    Anyone with a smaller phone book listing for your town? The whole phone book for the area is about 1/2 in.

    Don't I have anything better to do???

    ~Do you live out on the prairie or something? Is that 137 numbers for your entire county? That must be peaceful and quiet! I live in ultra densely populated southern NJ. Our directories are for the entire county and over an inch thick. Even when we lived in a small town here of about 3000 people, we still received the county phone book.~

    Our phone book in the states was an inch thick..(white and yellow pages) and it was for the WHOLE county! It's so peacful and quiet there.

    Our phone book for the city we live in is about 1/2 thick.

    Gee mine is about 3-4 inches..... When I moved here there was only 62,000 now there is over 200,000

    For just MY SIDE of town it's a half an inch thick. It's in addition to the city wide (plus suburbs) 3 inch book.
