My crazy husband.
So once in a while, my husband subs in for a recreational men's softball team that his friends play on, when they need extra players. It's nice, because they need players often, and since he just subs he doesn't have to pay league fees.
Well, last night he was subbing. And he calls me, probably about halfway into the game.
DH: "Do we have ice at home?"
Me: "Yeah? Some."
DH: "Can you make some more?"
Me: "Why do you need ice?"
DH: "I got hit in the head with the ball, it hurts really bad."
Me: "Um, we have ice packs."
DH: "Okay good. Someone's going to drive me home in a little bit."
So he didn't make a big deal out of it or anything. And he is the kind of guy who is always getting hurt. His friend's wife drives him and the car home, and she comes inside. She tells me there was a doctor on the other team and he looked at Andrew and said he needed to go to the hospital. She was really worried.
Off we went to the hospital ER, a doctor looked at him, gave him a cat scan, and said he has a concussion. I had to wake him up every two hours last night! He's fine now, just being kind of a baby.
The nice part is that the ER visit took less than 2 hours from time we walked in to the time we walked out. That was very surprising.
Anyway, just wanted to share. I can't wait to get the bill.

all of us men are babies. So our wifes know we need them.

I had a cat scan once... they didn't find anything.

I hope he continues to get better. It is amazing to hear you only spent 2 hours in the ER.

Dad of 4 once drove himself to the ER in the middle of the night with kidney stones. I had just had our 3rd dc five days earlier and my mom was visiting. I told him to wake her up and have her drive him, but he didn't want to disturb her since she was rooming with the baby that night. He parked in front of the ER doors and crawled into the hospital...needless to say, they didn't make him wait.
Later that day, our ds (then 21 months old) broke his right leg--tib/fib fracture and spent seven weeks in a full leg cast. That was the week from hell, let me tell you

Glad he's ok. I too have one of those husbands that are always getting hurt and will refuse to go to the doctor unless he absolutely has too! Hope you get some sleep today, you must be exhausted.

Yep, definitely a guy thing. I hope he feels better. Mine fell 15 feet off a ladder, broke his arm, and was knocked out for a few minutes. I thought he was dead or something! Guess who insisted on driving 30 miles to the hospital????
Bless your hearts!

Hope he's feeling better soon! Get some sleep, I'm sure you'll need it caring for an injured hubby.
