Well it doesn't much matter what it is. I'm sure the people of Montauk were not pleased. At least from what I remember they are a "keep to theselves, old money, community". The new money hangs in the Hamptons. They are a beachy, "dog loving" community. I can't believe someone's dog (out for a jog with them) didn't get ahold of that thing before someone could get pictures.

I think I'm going to make me up some Monster traps and trap me a live one.
It is what it is.

The "monster" actually has a beaky type mouth and not a jaw.. if you look closer at the photo..it's obviously a turtle that has lost it's shell. With the flipper type feet, the beak, and the small tail..it's very clear -picture it with a shell on top and you'll agree.

It cannot possibly be a turtle. A turtle's spine is attached to it's shell and they don't have any 'skin' underneath it, so they can't just lose their shells. He'd be missing half his back. You can also see strips of fur on it's body.
Also, if you see the second photo, you can tell that the 'beak' is actually just an odd view of a decomposed snout... you're looking at his canines. Not a beak.~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~
