Stickin it to the man...
well, not really. But it sounded cool.
I have been dealing with code enforcement woes for longer than anyone I know. So I had a dream the other night that i was ...surprise...fighting with code enforcement. In my dream I came up with a (in my mind) clever resolution. My resolution is to build a fence around my yard. It will house my dog run and block view of the "offending vehicles" It will allow my dogs MUCH more room to stretch their legs.
So. now to the fence. called around. Building a fence is pricey. really pricey. contracting it to be done, even more so. So I got an idea. Post at free cycle and craigslist that i need fence sections or supplies. within 10 minutes I had the reply for me to come get some pickets and 2x4's. enough pickets to run about 15 ft. and three 2x4's. for free
not bad for something i pulled out of a dream.~~ Missy ~~

Awesome!!
And yes, fencing is freaking expensive!! Just the fence down our driveway was nearly $2k
But it was the best money I've spent in a looooong time

I think if it is something that will end your battle and give you peace of mind, you should do it.

Fences make good neighbors.
I wish I had a fence along one side of our place.

What a great dream solution-- isn't it funny how the mind works sometimes?

I'd say that's pretty good use of your off time.
Our fence is getting sort of old but we're going to give it a good coat of paint and see how it holds up. I'd love to get a new fence but we have other housing priorities.

Fencing is expensive! We found our used split rail fence for about 1/3 what it would have cost to purchase new. We were so excited! I bet you will get all you need for free. If you go for a few days with no response, then post another ad. It won't be long! Nice dream.

Glad your dream came up for a solution for you. Do you have anyone, friends, family that would help put it up to cut the cost down. Maybe have a BBQ for everyone that could help.
Our sons put ours up because it was going to cost the amount you stated. With the material it cost us around $700. My parents came over, we shared stories, ate and built a fence.Maggi
