I've had it w/ IE7
I've had multiple failures and had IE7 lock up on me so many times I'm done. I just downloaded Firefox and I'm trying to get used to it. Any Firefox for reformed IE& users?

IE 7 is a flimsy copy of Firefox in my opinion. You'll get used to it in no time.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Do y'all know how to make my Yahoo mail to open w/ FF instead of IE? I'm referring to the little envelope I get as a notice I have new mail.

You need to make firefox your default browser.
* Select "Tools - Options" from the main menu in Firefox.
* Change to the "Advanced" tab/section. It could also be under "General" depending on the version of firefox you have.
* Check the ""Firefox should check to see if it is the default browser when starting"" option.
* Click ""OK"".
* Close all Firefox windows (for best results, restart the system). Finally, restart Firefox.
* When the ""Would you like to make [Firefox] your default browser?"" prompt appears, click ""Yes"" to make Firefox the default browser.
Found version-specific directions:
* Firefox 1.5: " "Tools -> Options -> General -> Default Browser -> Check Now"
* Firefox 2: " Tools -> Options -> Main / System Defaults -> (checkmark) Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup -> Check Now"
* Firefox 3: " Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General / System Defaults -> (checkmark) Always check to see if Firefox is the default browser on startup -> Check Now"Last edited by Pianolady; 08-08-2008 at 05:33 PM.

I heard of Firefox through some gaming buddies. They told me that Firefox had better control settings and was less prone to keyloggers (those things that record your keystrokes via a virus either through a particular website or a file on the website). Internet Explorer is outdated and sadly, so is most of Microsoft's products.
I uninstalled IE from my machine and haven't looked back since. I know that Apple released a Windows platform of their OS explorer (I forget the name, though).Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

I still use IE occasionally because some sites don't seem to work well with FF, but I use FF 95% of the time.~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~

I've been using Firefox for years and years. I hate IE but have to use it every so often for a page that Firefox doesn't like. And of course to check how crappy it makes my web designs look
