Olympics??
Is no one watching the Olympics? We watched the opening ceremony last and I was VERY impressed. I think the USA's uniforms were horrible and what up with those hats?
I'm watching the USA women's volley ball game against China right now. I'm impressed with their prowess.
What about you?

I actually feel asleep at 11:30 pm. Was not happy about that. I have the volleyball on right now. Can someone tell me who lit the caldron last night? I would watch the video of it but with dial-up it will take forever. Thanks.
I really did enjoy the opening ceremony though. Wish the drumming could have been heard better. Can't wait to see the closing ceremonies. Hopefully I will stay awake for that, or atleast remember to tape it.

I watched part of the opening ceremony. I saw the drums and that was impressive. I also liked how they lit the torch with the one man 'running' along the upper wall. I didn't like the USA hats either.
I have watched the USA women's basketball play, the women's weight lifting event (those women are strong), women's volleyball, men's rowing, and now the 150 mile men's bike race.~*Michelle*~

I watched Sada Jacobson kick sabre boo-tay with my fencing friends. It was awesome.
I love the Olympics, there's just such a sense of world fellowship and camaraderie.

I love swimming, volleyball and gymnastics. Totally by accident, I watched parts of women's volley ball, beach volleyball and men's swimming today. I missed the opening ceremonies
It does give you such a sense of world community. ~~ Traci, how sweet! *sighs, tears welling in my eyes* Have you seen anything in the news that you recognize? ~~

Can I say, I love my DVR? I get to tape 2 channels at once and watch at my leisure. Loved the opening ceremony. We fell asleep right after USA came in then we finished it this morning.
It is too horrible about the death of the american tourists. How alwful for the families, team USA and the Chinese people.

I thought the opening ceremonies where AWESOME!!!
Too many great things to even come close to listing them all!! The drums at the beginning, the "world" with the runners around it, all the fireworks (esp the "foot prints" over to the "bird's nest"...I thought the ending with that guy running around the top to light the torch was SO AMAZING!! Talk about endurance!! Oh...that "box" thing with the patterns and such...and then at the end finding out there were people inside those!! My Dh looooooved the technology aspect of it all...VERY complicated! And all those costumes!!! WOW!!
I recorded it on VHS...dubbing to DVD now.
Wish we had a DVR, but that's too much $$...so I'll just be content with what I've got.
Dh likes to watch all the swimming (he was in Jr. Olympics as a kid for swimming)... I love to watch gymnastics!!! The trampoline is cool, too!
