oh, now I am just heart broken.......... not!
I don't mind they were computer generated. It is a big performance and you can't risk injuries if things get too out of hand. Fireworks are a bit unpredictable. The Free Spirit Saver who walks the path with Greebo.

The fireworks were still set off, according to the article. They just couldn't film them from the helicopter, so they apparently simulated the fireworks with cg so the at home viewers could see. Non-issue for me, and i don't see that as being necessarily 'faked'.

Simulated or not, they still made us go "Ooooh" and "Aaaahhh."

It seemed pretty obvious to me that they were 'simulated'. (HDTV) I thought I even heard the announcer say it. ??
I thought it was really neat anyway. The whole opening show.

I don't think they should have even had fireworks in the first place, given the amount of pollution in that area. It's just another example of how careless people can be.

So to China, appearances > reality."The main consideration was the national interest," he said. "The child on the screen should be flawless in image, in her internal feelings, and in her expression. In the matter of her voice, Yang Peiyi was flawless, in the unanimous opinion of all the members of the team."
Nice to know.If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I don't care about the fireworks thing but this is just sad. That poor child will only remember she was "too ugly" to be seen on TV. If I was her parent I would have not let them use my child's voice. I would have told them either she sings on the camera or she doesn't sing.
