How much would you ask for?
I had no idea where to put this, so here it is in general chat lol.
I had planned on having a yard sale this Saturday, but instead I've decided to first try to sell the things on Craigslist then see what I have left. Anyways, one thing we're selling are a LOT of my husband's ties. His dad gives us BAGS of ties and my husband no longer has to wear them for work except on certain occasions and then he tends to go to the same 3-4 ties every time. So out of probably close to 100 ties he's only wearing 5...tops.
Anyhow, I have no idea how much I would even ask for them because I don't know how much ties cost. They're all mostly high-end (or at least "brand name") and are mostly silk with a couple of satin ones. Any idea on how much you'd sell them for?
Thanks

I dont really know...but I can tell ya that I see ties at the thrift store for 50 cents each. I got dh some golf theme ones last year.
How about placing the ad with pics of them, and describing the name brands, then saying best offer?
I mean, whatever the best offer may be, it's more than your getting with them hanging in the closet right?

I don't have a way to access a camera right now (lost the cord to mine and haven't replaced it yet), but I am thinking that listing the brands and saying best offer sounds like a great way to go. I was going to keep them around "just in case" but then I realized that doing things like that is how my house ends up cluttered lol

High end ties tend to cost $20 new. $1.00-$2.00 at a yard sale or craigs would be about right I think.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I would say ask $1 a piece or whatever you want for the entire bag, discounted of course. When my DH wore ties I would get them at the Thrift Store for $1 or less, each.

I'd get a camera and list them on eBay in a big lot.

If you can borrow a camera from someone just to take a few pictures, it would definitely help you sell faster. These days people don't want to make the drive if they can't see what they're buying. I agree $1 each is about right, or maybe 25 for $20 or something like that.
Good luck selling!!

I might be interested in alot of them if the price is right and the postage isn't overeboard. If you put together the pics, please pm me and I'll send you my regular e-mail address.
Thanks!
