Good morning to you too! Had an appt. here at the house concerning son's guardianship, she was a nice lady and we are good to go for another 3 years. Son is a bit upset over the appt., but he will be fine once he's out of his funk.

I have laundry to do, already did the dishes and I am going over finances and puttering here at FV.

Sounds like you are a very busy person, canning over an open fire and all...way more gumption than I have ! Have a great day!

Good day! I do not feel to great this morning, so I haven't gotten much accomplished. I had to take DS#1 to work at 6am because his check engine light came on yesterday on his car and he just decided to tell me about it at 5am today! UGH!! I stopped at Dunkin' Donuts on the way there and picked up 2 dozen donut holes for $1 with a coupon. I brought them home to DS#2 and DS#3. DS#2 had to get up at 7:30 and head to football practice. It just started raining so I bet they headed inside to the gym to practice.

I need to get going on some laundry and straightening up my bedroom. I really need to get in my closet and declutter it. Maybe if I get enough energy later I will tackle that task.

I hope everyone has a great day!

    My goodness!

Well, today is the BIG DAY! My mom is flying in from Upstate NY and she'll be here at 7pm. The entire family is going to the airport to pick her up (I am so excited!!!) and we're stopping at the store to get some coffee, then coming home and spending some time together. We're setting up her bed tonight and taking some of the toys out of her room (it's the kids' playroom usually) plus putting the portable hanging closet in there and maybe some decorations. I also have to make a list of things to get tomorrow for DS #1's 10th birthday and I'm waiting on the mail today. I still haven't gotten the items I need for his cake but if they don't come until tomorrow, I'm going to get some stuff locally to take its place.

I cleaned the upstairs yesterday and today will be the downstairs' turn. I have sweeping, wiping down the walls, cleaning the half bath, putting towels in the half bath, dishes and some sorting to do.

Well it's almost 10 am here. Got up late because the kids and I stayed up late last night on the trampoline and watch the stars-our last hurrah for summer because school starts here this Wednesday! So the kids are mostly fed and dressed. I still need to: Straighten up. Get ready for my cub scout den to get here (I'm a den mother) and do some fabulous project on their map and compass belt loop. Get the kids school supplies in their backpacks. Hem my daughter's school pants. Luckily we have a church picnic tonight so I don't have to make dinner! Yay! Well, better get off my tush and get going on my day!

Not so much gumption as neccessity. I do like the garden Fresh is always better but with a 14 year old SD that thinks she's never going to get fed again I need all I can get. ( She went without with her mother) Next week I have kraut and skettie sauce to do . I did up the last of the green beans with mushrooms bring ing the total to 70 jars. That should get us through til March.

Working until 4:30, then going home to fix dinner and do dishes, then get back to packing...that's pretty much the steady routine for now.

We have a pretty easy day today.

I took DD to school this morning, after making her and DH some eggs, grits and toast for breakfast. Plus, I do her hair and make-up everyday.

Went by the bank and made a deposit.

Came home and took a nap from 8:30 until 10:45.

I will pick her up after school at 3:15.

This evening we will leave at 5:00 for football practice and get back home around 8:45-9:00.

Then have dinner, take showers and head to bed.

    Show off! :girlraz:

I've taken a shower & gotten dressed, does that count? Picked up house and cleaned bathroom. I also took stuff out of the freezer for dinner tonight. This afternoon I'll run my tomatoes thru the kitchen-aid strainer & make my sauce for lasagna then assemble it. Make salad & garlic bread too. :blowbubble:

How do you keep a constant temp for your canner using a fire? Interesting.... Used to can hundreds of quarts of food when I was younger...but now it's only now & then and good old Aldi's supplies most of our canned food. Hats off to you--that's hard work!
