Newbie just learning
Hi all,
I am a 41-year-old single mom of three daughters. One of whom is in college.
I make a good income, just over 100k, but have 13k in CCdebt, 11k in medical bills, and a car that I owe 23k on.
I was off of work for 6 months out the last 3 years due to kidney disease and a subsequent transplant. My budget was in no way prepared to handle that. I had a small EF that was eaten up right away. I also made some bad spending decisions while I was off work; had myself a little spending/pity party.
I am now back on track with an attempt at a budget and a small EF, and I am snowballing everything extra towards the debt.

Welcome. Glad you're doing better. Don't feel to bad about the spending/pity party. It happens sometimes. (Hope it was to big a splurge, though.
) Sometimes you just need to go buy something.

Welcome. You'll get lots of great support here. I fully understand about the spending binge. When I was doing chemo, I did the same thing -- spent plenty on aquariums, that I ended up giving to the hospital six months later. I was crazy. Why did I think I wanted to spend the rest of my life hauling water? I'd had them before and knew better, too.
Anyway, you'll be on top of the finances in no time, I'm sure.Donna
