It's a small farm that's run for recreational purposes vs. to make a profit.
Mine would have some fruit & vegetable gardens, chickens, a goat, maybe a small orchard, a barn/outbuilding where I could house homeless cats, and a farmhouse.Last edited by The Muse; 08-18-2008 at 10:07 AM.

I don't care what it is, we're not having one till we have real acerage, and even then, it'll be up for discussion!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I know, I'm a bad bad person.
Seriously, once we have acreage, she can have some livestock. It'll entertain the dogs.
I just like pretending to be mean about it.

From Wikipedia....A hobby farm is a smallholding or small farm that is maintained without expectation of being a primary source of income. Some are merely to provide some recreational land, and perhaps a few horses for the family's children. Others are managed as working farms for sideline income, or are run at an ongoing loss as a lifestyle choice by people with the means to do so.What is considered a hobby farm?
