Not a good week so far...
Yesterday, after a long struggle with Alheimer's, my dh's grandma passed away. My sister works at the nursing home she was at and notified me around 3pm that the family was there and that she was going to pass soon. I got there about 8pm after I left work, dh was already there. Hospice was there and they were just doing comfort care as she was a DNR. At 11:30pm she took what we thought was her last breath, but nearly a full minute later she took another breath and continued to breath for a full 9 minutes more. Then, they called it at 11:39pm. It is a sad time, but also we are relieved that she is not suffering anymore. It was my first experience witnessing a death, one I would not like to repeat again. So, please keep my dh's family in your thoughts and prayers.
