Was so proud...
At walmart today, I was buying my salad stuff for the week. I have been fixing my husband salads for his lunch for a while now. I used to premake them, lettuce, carrots, onion, tomatoe, cucumber and put in a quart baggie (squeeze the air out) and then in a snack baggie the meat and cheese topping, another baggie the croutons. Then he has been taking the squirt dressing. He would pour all this into his pop up bowl. Then I bought the square container holds about cup and 1/2 of salad, and baggies on top and close. Easy peesy, I can make all 5 days and leave in fridge.
Well now that I explained that (weeee I am wordy) I go over in the section where the lettuce is and there is almost the same exact thing (whos been in my kitchen..lol) container with a small container on top, but just with a smidgen of croutons, meat, cheese and a small cont of dressing..... Once used you really couldn't use again. And guess how much it was.....4.98 for that, oh I just about died...
I felt so proud, sometimes I think you do so much to try to save money and keep it on a budget that you forget to check the things you were trying to save on.. It just made me feel good that I most probably could make ours for much, much less.
On that note. Walmart was yucky as usual, very hard to find cheaper brands and stuff. NOt stocking the stuff I usually like or maybe it is that they are just not stocking alot.. Everything always looks so picked over....
Just wanted to share..
