    Smile Prayers, good thoughts needed...

Dad of 4 left this morning for Detroit. He and a co-worker are off to test a piece of equipment his plant ordered to make sure it runs to specs before it is shipped here to Arkansas.

That means I am left with the four kids by myself until Friday...and it's going to be a busy week.

I need some prayers and good thoughts for Dad's safe trip and my sanity!

Thinking of you, and hoping everything runs smoothly for you this week!

How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

He got out in October of 2000--when our oldest was just 2.

I am a pretty organized person, but I tend to stress out a bit over stuff if it doesn't go just right. My big stressor is getting the 4 y.o. and the baby to bed (he usually gets one down, and me the other). I told the 10 y.o. if she gives me some extra help it could be worth a little extra something at the end of the week.

He made it to Detroit in one piece--said the flight was a bit bumpy but no biggie. He's going to call the kids tonight after their baths to say hi.

The funny thing is that you are going to be looking back on these times and wondering when these babies grew up...enjoy this time but take care of yourself as well.

Okay, so I finally get the kids down--6 y.o. and 4 y.o. in bed around 7ish and the baby went down before 7:30. The oldest was a big help in getting her little sister tucked in. Brooke was waiting for her daddy to come and read her a story before bedtime. She doesn't understand how far away he is.

So, instead of sitting on my behind, like I should have, I spent over two hours working on reorganizing the files, which we started back in April, lol. I'm beat!

The house is still standing...the kids are all sleeping, and the baby's wake up time is going to come way too soon!

Well, his trip was successful...the machine they went to test only had some minor issues, which are easily fixable. He'll be back home tomorrow around 11 CST.

I'm proud to say the files got done! It's nice not to have that hanging over our heads anymore. It only took me five months to do it, LOL.

As for my sanity, it's still here, but barely. Michael woke up at 3:30 this morning and for 2.5 hours he restlessly slept in my arms in the recliner. I had a busy day...besides the everyday stuff, I got dd's Girl Scout stuff today (her sash and some patches and pins); picked up the barcodes I'm going to put on the stuff I'm selling in the consignment sale next week, and bought a new litter box today (the old one was 8 years old, yikes). Then I picked up the older two, came home for an hour, ran out, grabbed McD's, ate, got the kids bathed and out the door for a mandatory parents' meeting for 4th grade. Didn't get home until after 7--had to get everyone wrestled into pjs and into bed.

Dh is giving me some mommy time out on Saturday. I'm living dangerously by getting a haircut and going to the library. He has a three day weekend, thankfully.

Next week is going to be busy with Girl Scouts and choir starting for dd#1, the consignment sale, ds#1's sixth birthday, pictures for the church directory on Saturday, and a father/daughter dance on Sunday night. Ah, the busy school year...I just love it. If I can I want to sneak out to hear a speaker at church one night next week--he sounds interesting.
