Default My heart in my throat!

I just took the rat terrier down to the corner sewer to go potty.

I carry a bag with me for the poopsies but I try to get him down there without him peeing on anyones curbs---yes people don't like that but how to do A) stop a dog from peeing and B) put the pee in a bag.....but anyway...

So we jogged down to the sewer where it is no mans land and he did his business and then on the way back I let him sniff around and have fun.

I noticed him go to sniff something and when I went to look it was a live snake in the road!

It was tiny and probably hurt to be so far off the grass--3 feet into the road but he was still alive.

Now I don't freak over snakes but I should would feel horrible if I lost my dog to a snake bite and had to tell my dd at college.

    This dog is her baby!

Glad the dog is okay. Seeing the snake probably would have unnerved me for the day. LOL

You're unnerved? Imagine how scared that poor little snake must have been! When your eyes are less than 2 inches off ground level I would guess everything looks ginormous and dangerous.

Glad that no one was hurt.

Do you have any idea what kind of snake it was?
It might not have even been poisonious.

Oh FrugalWitch, thanks for the snake's point of view. It puts a smile on my face. Love it! (your comment, not the snake)

I remember freaking when my kitty wanted to play with a snake years ago. Really have to keep an eye on those little furbabies & where we step, as well. Glad no one was bit!

I am not a big fan of snakes, I probably would have freaked out!! I am okay if I know they are there, but if it was something that just happen to catch the corner of my eye, I would freak!!

I am glad the dog is okay!!

So did you pick up the snake & move him to safety?

I can't stand snakes. I would have been running and screaming the whole way home. Doesn't matter how little or non-poisonous they are.

Eeee, I would've been upsetty, too! Poor puppy. Glad nothing bad happened.

I have a great scared-of-snakes story. A college friend told me his dad was deathly afraid of snakes. One day a garter snake -- and you know how tiny and not dangerous they are -- dared to be seen in his yard. In an exercise of total overkill, he got his shotgun out and shot it. Well, more like he blew a mini crater into the yard. He then got lighter fluid and set the hole on fire!

Dh hates snakes. He almost passed out the one time he went through a snake house at the zoo. I'll just tell y'all, he's 6'5" and bulky. I feel for him, but sometimes it is funny. We live backed to woods and, unfortunately, there are snakes here. He was raking the old mulch out from the bushes in front and saw two. He dropped the rake, ran inside, and it sat in the yard for three days until I went and got it. So, now we pay someone to do that, lol.
