    Exclamation My New Life (Long)

Today is the beginning of a new life for myself.

I have always been depressed, but the past few years things have gotten worse. In the past couple of months things have disintegrated completely. I am now getting the help I need. I have found a psychiatrist who just prescribed me medications that will hopefully will start me going in the right direction.
I am also extremely overweight. I've been approved for gastric bypass, but the doctor won't schedule the surgery because I gained 6 pounds. I am supposed to lose 15 pounds before he will schedule it. I'm going to work hard on that so I can start retrieving my physical health.
Finally I made the decision to take care of myself by quitting my job. I did it yesterday by telling the doctors I work with that I was going to take a leave of absence. It is going to be very tough as I was the major income source in our home, but I had gotten to the point where I was becoming ineffective at work. I actually ha ve just started figuring out that I don't even really like the profession I'm in at all. I want to work on being a SAHW for a little while, and then look into working in a different profession part time.
My goals are to start learning to cook, clean more efficiently using homemade cleaners, coupon/rebate for the items I do need, stockpile, sell the things I do not need, and learn to grow my own foods/herbs. I have been coming to this site for years, and now it's time to get hardcore. I'll be here alot I'm sure learning and asking questions.
I'm ready to begin a new life a few weeks before I turn 27, and I hope that this all works out to make my life the best that it can be!

Good luck Heather!!!! I am so happy to hear about all the positives you have going on! Let us all know how the bypass surgery goes, as I am also overweight and just can't seem to lose it and I am mightly tempted to look into it. Just so i can be healthy, not a swimsuit model! LOL

It sounds as if you have alot of changes for the positive going on. Try and pace yourself. Don't be worried if it takes a while to get everything in place. Good luck on your journey.

How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

Good luck dear. I hope that you can lose the weight to get the gastric bypass done and then lose ALL of it. I am a little overweight and struggle with it often.

I also wish you luck in learning to be a SAHW

Congrats on getting out of your rut in life. The easy part is saying you want to change, the harder part is taking the steps forward towards doing it. You sound like you've started that ball rolling nicely. Hopefully the surgery is the right choice, I sometimes have a hard time understanding that one myself...seems so drastic to me.

I'm glad to hear your making some positive choices to start moving down the path you want to go. I am struggling today with not going to human resources, handing them my letter of resignation and sticking my tongue out. I'm not there yet, but feel it coming. Good for you for taking that leap as well!!!!! Lots of luck....and ENJOY being home.
