    Default I have a question

there's probably a way to do it and it's probably very well known to all but me....but I'm gonna ask it anyway. Is there a way to 'save' a post to something like a notebook? For instance if there are recipes that I want and want to be able to find them easily and quickly....instead of doing a search or looking through the cookbook could I copy and paste the recipe somewhere else for fast and easy access? (sorry if this is a silly question......tia)

Copy and paste to a word document.
then you would be able to search for key words.

Right above the post you want to save, above the users name it says "Add this post to your favorites". You click that. It will open a page that tells you what kind it is (post, poll, etc). You can change the title so YOU know what it is, then click save.

Then when you want to access it, go to your Control Panel and it's in your favorites there.

Is Google notebook still around? That's awesome for your purpose.

Google notebook is okay. If you use Mozilla.
I'm not impressed with it. It doesn't help me organize my online stuff much at all. I'm still left clicking through tags and labels and notebooks trying to find stuff. But that could just be a reflection on my organizing skills..or lack thereof

If you have Office 2007, they have OneNote which is great for recipes. You can keep adding pages to each folder. Perfect really. Or if you don't have it. You can use Word of course or maybe Access? There may even be an equivalent for Microsoft Works. They are a database program and I believe they may have a template on there for recipes. If not, you can always go to the MSN site and get a template. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ac...487571033.aspx
You may even be able to use Excel. You could have a workbook for each main ingredient, say chicken, beef, desserts, etc and then in each workbook you can add worksheets (right click on the tabs at the bottom and insert pages) If you want to do this, I could even set something up for you and email it to you as an attachement, you would just have to pm me your email and let me know what version of Word or Works you have.

For recipes, you could also use an online recipe collection. Allrecipes.com has a thing where you can add there recipes to your recipe box plus add in your own. krafftfoods.com also has it so you can add your own recipes.

i use a program that for most sites it can download the page and then u can edit the recipe in that little window. i dunno how it would work with windows though. for that u would have to ask jason or gabe since they know more about linux stuff than i do. the program i use is called gourmet recipe manager and it is sort of compatible with windows. http://grecipe-manager.sourceforge.net/ thats actually the site i found it on. for windows based i loved cook'n. http://www.dvo.com/products_cookn.html cook'n isnt as advanced as the program that i use now but its still pretty good for one thats $15 and up (depends on which one u really want).
