Default Anyone Getting Ready for Hanna?

Besides me? I'm not doing too much ~ just moving a few things indoors and making sure I have batteries for the radio and flashlights. I have to go get some dog food and some ice and that's about all I am doing.

Which means we'll get creamed....the last tropical storm that went through we had a tree fall on our house and no power for 10 days. UGH!

Sending good thoughts to everyone in her way!

As of right now... we are just suppose to get a lot of rain (maybe some strong winds) late Saturday night.

I have put off going to the grocery store, but I went today to pick up coffee, creamer and powdered milk (no-power needs... my family NEEDS me to be able to perk my coffee on the stove )
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Just ran to Walmart to avoid having to go out later. We're pretty far inland, but could get some rain & wind. Needed several items & better to get it over with was my thought. Hopefully it keeps slowing down & doesn't cause any damage! Really wouldn't mind a little rain though.

How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

~I'm preparing today. Dh's is going to secure everything outside that could blow around when he gets home from work. He's stopping on the way to pick up some milk and essentials. We'll probably only get rain and 20MPH winds but I'm still nervous. Besides making lots of ice and filling jugs with water, I'm gathering all our important papers, cash, emergency supplies and essentials and gassing up the van in case we have to leave. We have mature trees very near our house so damage is possible. Flooding is also a possibility.~

Getting ready here also. I live on the southeastern coast of NC so am expecting wind and rain. Schools have been called off today so everyone can get ready. Time to batten down everything. Ike is the one I'm more worried about right now.

We will work on getting everything inside this afternoon when we get off of work. Also filling water containers.

I am also not as worried about Hanna as I am about IKE.

darn, community tag sale tomorrow, this storm is going to put the damper on it for sure if it hits early. I did hear that their going to let the sales continue on Sunday, so maybe all is not lost. Everyone stay safe out there..

we're doing a little bit, though we will miss the brunt of the storm. They're predicting rain and high winds for us starting tonight into tomorrow, so I got my groceries for the week (in case there's a flooding mess later), tied down the cover on the pool, got all the kids outside toys tied down, and put away other potential flying objects. I'm more worried that we'll get a tornado spawned off the thunderstorms than anything though.

I am just worried about ds1. He is at Cherry Point, NC. Being a Marine, and an MP, he will be out in the crappy weather. Say a little extra prayer for him cause I will be worried for sure!
