Compulsive Password Behavior
Hi,
My sister and I are debating over where is the best place to store all your passwords. She says right on the computer and I say not.
It would be interesting to see what everyone thinks about this.
Thanks,
Serena

You store them in your computer and anyone hacks into your system, all your info is theirs.

I keep mine in my head for the most part. I am lucky, I am able to remember all of my passwords, DH's, DD's and DS's. Every once in a while I write them in a notebook I keep with personal info in it. But I do not update it often.

Yeah its almost not so hard to keep an inventory of passwords but its the signon variations that make me crazy ... anyway this video was sent to me by my neighbor just now and I got a kick out of it...

I know all of mine in my head, but I have started working on a household notebook that lists all our accounts and information about each, including login and password information. I started this so that if anything should happen to me, DH will know how to log into our online bank account or our credit card account, paypal, etc. I also include in this book information about our insurance and policy numbers, telephone numbers for all the utility companies, list of telephone numbers for all my family members, etc. I keep it hid in a place where only DH and I know where it is.
I handle all the finances and household management myself, so if I died or became too ill to manage it, DH will now have a "user's manual" to get him through everything.

Not on your computer!!!
I have a spreadsheet that I have saved on a jump drive so they are only accessible when I put the jump drive in.
I used to use only 1 password for just about everything so it was easy to remember. Then while using IM on Yahoo I got hacked and they had my password. YIKES!!!!
That scared me, so now everything important has a different password. That's why I need a spreadsheet for them.ANGIE

I usually have about 3-4 I rotate, I usually have the same username for everything, with a few differences, but the passwords I rotate!! I would never keep them on my computer, but I usually only use 3-4 so I can remember them easily!!

I use too keep a notebook, but for the most part there are only 2 or 3 that I use although, since a lot of sites want you to have a number a lowercase and an uppercase letter I usually still use the same 3 but with one of the letters capitalized or a number added to the end.
