Great news today!!
I have been wanting to get gastric bypass for a long time, as I have been in the morbidly obese category for about 10 years now, and at such a young age I want to change that. I have been working on getting the surgery approved now for about a year. About a month ago my insurance approved the surgery, but the surgeon's office said I had gained a little weight, and that the doctor needed me to lose a little weight so the surgery would be safer. I got a call yesterday from the doctor's office asking me to come in. I went in today, and they scheduled my surgery for September 22!!!! This will be a little bit after my birthday, so I'm now going to consider this as another birthday for myself. I am doing a special diet until the surgery so I will lose a little weight, but then in a couple of weeks my life will be changing in a big way yet again!!!!! I'm excited and scared all at the same time. I'm ready to fit into smaller and more affordable clothes (I can assure you it is hard to find larger clothes at the thrift store).
Also today I got a call from the new psychiatrist I'm supposed to go see. I was originally scheduled for the 26th, and I was a little nervous about going right after surgery. When they called today, they said someone had canceled for this Friday. So now I can get some of my medication worries worked out before the surgery. At least a few things are falling into place!!
