Formula Issues: Wevils
Ugh This last batch of formula i got from the foodlion in town here has been a pain.. at first i thought that the black speck in almost every bottle was Joe being goofy and gettting something in it. Well then my grandmother made a bottle and the same thing happened. My grandmother, mom and i ( in i am sure comical manuver) got this spec floating in the bottle out and inspected it. It was a flour wevil.
My grandmothers first response was oh well you brought it from your house. I was like i don't have wevils at my house. Plus the container was sealed when i had brought it to the hotel. No holes or anything in the container.
So these containers came from foodlion maybe even from the formula company with wevils in them!! I know a certain percentage of our food is allowed to be "other" buggy ingredients, but the constant black specs in formula are rediculious.
Has anyone else had this happen to them reciently?
Me i was looking for an email for the company because i so hate talking on the phone or waiting for a long time to let them know that there is an issue... but BLECK.Last edited by qtkitty; 09-11-2008 at 01:08 AM.

Oh yuck! I would call and DEMAND someone to pay attention to this that is just not right...I hope you get fast and complete justice. Weevils in a baby's formula that is just not acceptable.

UGH! I'd get in touch with a nurse or doctor and ask them about that if you've been feeding them to your baby.
I'd be raising a fuss with the formula manufacturer as well, and be sure to dig through the formula you get to check it.~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~

That is definitely unacceptable! I would be on the phone with the formula company right away demanding that this problem be fixed!

Nishu~ The way my doctor acts some times i am not sure if she would go into a tissy or if she would have a home nurse out to my house again or if she would be like Ehh more protien.
I just had Ellen into the dr yesterday because of sinus issues and she has determined since this is her 3rd time having the same thing that she has allergies same as me. This time she didn't have an infection because i caught it so fast, last time she had an sinus infection in 1.5 days.. but no fever or lost in appitite. Sorry Off topic.
Yeah i think its gross .. i opened another can that i got at the same time and went through it with a sive and nothing.. but the specs are small so its possible it went through so as its made if i catch anything i'm going to sit it off to the side to keep incase they decide to tell me i'm just loosing it. I am calling tommorrow since i will have time to be on the phone for a while if need be since its my day off.
