Survived the storm
We survived the storm with compared to everyone else in Texas very little damage.
We lost our storage shed to the top of our big oak tree that came crashing down on it.
Lost another oak tree and have limbs all over the two acres.
Clean up is not going to be fun.
We where with out power for 11 hours our electric company is going to get a big Thank you letter from me they worked fast to get us back with electric.
I hope the rest of the Texas people check in and let us know how they are doing.

Texasgal I'm sure glad you folks are ok and without serious damages.
DD and SIL are fine also. Their only damage was from wind forcing water into the eve vents and into the attic. Wind also forced rain thru the stove hood vent. They woke up to hear water running and found the water was also being forced into the cabinets. The took down the stove hood hoping to create any easy exit for the water and save the cabinets.
They have been w/o power since 10:30 pm Friday and have been told it may take 2 weeks. Their only concern is drying out the attic before mildew grows. DD has serious allergies and mold is high on the list.
Their neighborhood lots shingles, fences and trees but nothing really serious and no one hurt.
I hope everyone else has been as blessed and is safe and well with their family and loved ones.Robin

Sorry for the shed demolition, but at least it wasn't worse. Glad everyone is ok!

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

glad things are ok, dont worry about the trees too much, can you cut them up and sell them as logs? is it possible, or keep them for winter, if you have a wood burner (or know anyone who has one)

This Michelle is in San Antonio and we're just fine. Got a few thundershowers yesterday, and it was 100 degrees and windy on this side of the storm, but nothing terrible. The other Michelle (Mom23boys) lives north of here, more in central Texas (near Killeen, I think) and I don't think they had any big effects from the storm, either.
