    Default The devil and the farmer.

    The Devil showed up at a small country church in the middle of Wednesday service. The pastor and all the congregation ran out of the little church screaming, except for one old farmer. He remained, unfazed in his pew. The Devil was flummoxed. He went to the old man and put on the most terrifying face he could think of. Still, no reaction from the old man. The Devil then screamed the scream of the dead and yet, for all the effort, still the old man just looked calm and sedated.

    Finally the Devil, in exasperation, asked the old man, "Why is it that you are not afraid of me at all, while everyone else screams and runs away?"

    The old farmer looked at the Devil and answered calmly, "I've been married to your sister for 54 years, you don't scare me at all."
