    Default Ugh kids

So my now 5 yr old at 3 1/2 decided to make himself hot coco while I was in the shower. And proceded to put a plastic cup, hotcoco mix, and a metal spoon in the microwave. Needless to say it caught fire and destroyerd the microwave and almost my countertop but I got to it in time and saved the day.

No fast forward to now my Little Emma who will be 4 in Nov decided to wash her hands while I was outside. Meanwhile I come back inside and she is watching tv and I had no clue she had been into the bathroom. 45 minutes go bye and Emma asks to go outside so I say okl just grab your sweatshirt from your room. As she walks into the hallway I here oh no. I turn to see whatb is wrong and notice a huge mess of water in the hallway. I run to the hallway and notice the bathroom door is closed and water is running. I open the door and find out she had the sink on full blast and plugged with a towell.

There is water everywhere. Down the hall, in my room, the entire bathroom, and starting to go into the kitchen and kids rooms. I dried everything up and headed downstairs to throw it into the washer and there is water all over the basement from where it leaked through the floor.

    Ughhhhhh what a mess.

Oh No. Don't you just love the messes that they make. When my dd 12yrs was 5yrs old she tried to surprise us and start the dishwasher. She filled it to the hilt with liquid dish detergent. There were bubbles and water all over the kitchen floor. I could not even get mad at her. It was sooo funny and she was trying to be helpful.

Sometimes I wish my kids wouldn't be so "helpful". When they help it means more cleanup fo me.

    Ugh is right!!

My youngest once put a paper bag full of hot wheels in the microwave and it caught on fire. Luckily I was right in the kitchen (just with my back turned washing dishes) and was able to get it out before it destroyed anything. But still crazy scary!

The good thing is he never messed with the microwave again!

Can you explain that to my hubby. He has no clue how I can spend the day cleaning up behind Emma's cleaning and the house still looks like I did nothing all day.

Luckly my day is going better.I sure hope Emma never does that again.

I have to giggle at the microwave story- when my son was 4, I was in the shower after a day of work at the hospital, he decided to 'make dinner' and tried to nuke a PACKAGED ramen noodles, plastic, foil insert and all. We lost the microwave on that one too .

Oh no! I am so sorry.

A few months ago, my DD came inside to use the downstairs bathroom. She forgot to close the door and then ran back outside. My DS (almost 2 at the time) and I were upstairs, and I didn't hear him walk down the steps. I heard a clinking noise and went to investigate. He was in that bathroom, had filled the toilet with toilet paper, and was repeatedly flushing. Water was gushing - literally - out of the toilet, on the floor, out in the hallway, in the dining room, and back in a circle into the kitchen. YUCK!!

Oh my! I've been there alot with both kids. I totally know how it is, especially when you have your back turned on them even for a minute.

My 5 year old, a few years back, decided to not only stuff one of those huge tires from the Kinex toys down the toilet but he also tried to stuff one of my exfoliating scrub bars down the toilet too. The removal of two toilets and lots of water damage later, we learned not to give even the oldest child things that can be put into weird places.

The Kinex toy was for my now 10 year old.

Kids will do the darnest things, both with and without supervision. It's why I try not to take a shower when DH is asleep and both kids are home. They're at that age where they fight constantly now.
