    Default Non-Controversial You Tube Video

One of my grad school professors had us watch this video in class. It's a pretty interesting video, just on...I don't know...life in these technological times, I guess.

    It's called "ShiftHappens."

That was interesting and informative. It was cool to see the answers to some of the questions and facts in there. I was surprised by a few of them but gathered China and India would be at the front in population and education.

I for one am torn on these technological times we live in. I'm grateful for medical advances, the ability of a cell phone to keep a family connected in an emergency, and with the internet being able to research and learn from a vast amount of information far better than a person ever could.

But on the flip side, I miss seeing people walk down the street and waving or talking to someone, not having a bluetooth stuck in their ear talking to the wind. I think our children are far more concerned with computers and video games than being kids and learning the real values and what's important in studies. I also think it has made us become more of an anti-social society and I wonder when we will be assimilated into the borg in the future. (Star Trek humor).

Being in a small town, I love having access to information via the internet, as our library is too small to hold much. When I want to know something, it's right there. However, I am also glad that we are too small to have cell phone service. lol! Some technologies, I can definitely live without.

I hate reading about the population though; that many new people being born everyday scares me.

    Texaspeanut, love the ST reference.
