Good morning Village People
it's fun to stay at the YMCA......
Sorry....now we'll all be singing that song in our heads all day, eh?
What's everyone doing on this fine Friday morning? How's your weather?
For us it's going to be sunny and mid 80's before the cold snap this weekend. Looking for some rain over the weekend and early part of next week too. Harvest is almost finished for most around here so we won't mind it too bad.
Today for me, it's;
~workout
~sweep the floors
~make the bed
~wash dog bedding
~bank statements and bills (meant to do this yesterday and had some cooking to do instead)
~dinner with Gripey and Dad at our fave. mexican food place tonight
~I've DVR'd Dream Girls to watch while Gripey's at a football game
Next?

I am taking care of sick DS. He either has mono or some other virus (called vincent a??? something). We will find out this afternoon when the blood test come back. He has not really eating since Tuesday, can barely drink. He has lost 5 pounds in two days. He has been to three doctors since Tuesday, has had blood drawn three times, been given a rocephin shot, steroid shot, started and then stopped Augmentin, now on clindamycin and pain meds. His airway was almost closed off yesterday due to swollen tonsils. His pediatricians were about to admit him to hospital to monitor his breathing and fluid intake. Luckily the steroids reduced the swelling enough and then his urinalysis showed he was not dehydrating. He was able to come home, thank goodness. Next, the ENT was talking about emergency surgery to remove abscessed tonsils. Again, thank goodness he was able to quickly rule out an abscess. Another good thing is he is 13 and old enough to know he has to force liquids or he will be in the hospital. Reasoning with a teen is easier than reasoning with a little one in this situation.
Other than taking care of DS, I won't be doing much of anything else.Last edited by Neeley; 10-10-2008 at 10:29 AM.

Today's agenda includes
- driving, driving and more driving
- a little shopping
We are still moving from Iowa to Oregon. Today we are near Boise, ID. We should make it to Portland or maybe Springfield (where we are moving to) today. On the way we are going to stop and do a little shopping. We are need a few furniture items and thought we would look today while we still have the moving truck. Tomorrow we unload the truck and arrange the house.Julie

Sorry to read about your son Neeley.
Today is a strange day...
Started out bitter cold, but no frost on the windshield. It's currently around 57* and should peak at around 70 sometime this afternoon. I don't have much to do outside, but I may sit on the bench and get some 'me' time in.
So far today I --
- Kissed the Old Man goodbye
- showered & dressed
- got DD out of bed, argued over tag-day clothes
- made breakfast
- drove DD to school
- had Library class
- picked up a Freecycle book
- stopped at the used book store
- came home to no electricity ... again
- prep for dinner
... and it's not even 11 yet
Later I will...
- work on the wreath again (it's mocking me)
- unload the dishwasher
- read
- take a nap
- soak in a tub filled with bubbles
- give myself a facial
- give myself a hair treatment
- kiss the Old Man hello
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Well...
Woke up to about 5 inches of wet heavy snow with it still snowing heavily! It's so beautiful here in the mountains! Had to knock the snow off the satellite so I could check the news this morning. Drove the 4WD down to meet the bus this morning.
Today, I need to:
1. Clean house TOP TO BOTTOM. We are going on vacation starting Sunday and will be gone for a week! Disneyworld here we come!
2. Do all laundry which has slowly been building up!
3. Clean out hamster cage and set up feeding system while we are gone.
4. Pay bills before we leave.
Have a blessed weekend!

Good morning, Lisa and all the FV-er's!

I am cleaning my way through kitchen cupboards, and tossing and organizing.
Then wash the kitchen windows w/ vinegar-water.
Throw in a load of laundry and hang it out (nice day w/ breeze).
Then continue to knit like crazy for holiday gifts.
Making easy (cheap) dinner.
Neeley, I hope your son gets well, soon. He sounds scary sick. Glad the steroids took the swelling down in the throat, etc.
Lisa -----Ohhhh, that SONG!

Walked to laundromat to wash comforters, etc, this morning. Stopped at fast food place to eat at laundromat. Got home and did another load of curtains in the washer. Hung everything back up. Now taking a break. Still need to shower, dust and vacuum, and start packing. Finally have boxes so this weekend will try to do more packing and organizing. I am already overwhelmed and I haven't even started! LOL
It is supposed to get up to 70 degrees this afternoon. Right now the sun is shining and the windows are open. So am enjoying the remnants of warm weather while I can. Just finished the last piece of fruitcake.

Oh Neeley, your poor baby
That sounds awful, I hope he is doing better today and recovers quickly.
I've not done much all week. I messed my back up on the weekend and have spent the week staggering around just doing the absolute necessities (basically feeding children and changing diapers). Today is no different, actually worse. Just waiting for the Robax to take effect, hoping hubby can get home at a reasonable hour as I just finished the bottle and am in too much pain to walk to the drugstore.
