Default Does this send up red flags as too easy

One of the guys at work was talking about going to her after getting an email from a friend of his
    Optimal Credit Services,

xxx-xxx-xxxx. for $100 she will do a credit report and then fopr $25 each item will REMOVE THEM FROM YOUR CREDIT REPORT!!!! INCLUDING the REPOS! She has done it for my brother for YEARS. He had 2 repo's as well.

I just started working with her and am waiting on 1 more report to see what she can do for me.

she will look at your credit report for all old debts that haven't been paid and she gets them wiped off. I dont know how, but I think there is some rule that they have to PROVE that they told you it was going to collection. And how can they really do that unless they sent it certified mail or overnight??......so for $25 an item, she just works to have them erased.

I'm serious, my brother had THE WORST CREDIT EVER, and like I said 2 repo's and she erased them all and he was approved for a mortgage....

give her a call......she will explain it to you for free till you decide what to do. REAL NICE WOMAN!!!

I'm not sure how anyone could erase a legal judgment ( Bank repo, foreclosure, cc debt, etc. ) off of your credit history. Sounds like there are conditions for removal, but that's just me thinking out loud, so to speak.

    That's called fraud.

The only way to remove an item from the credit report legitimately is if the item had no business being there in the first place.

If this person is charging money to lie to the credit bureaus, she's committing fraud, and could be facing criminal charges if found out.

Meanwhile, the lenders, who report to the agencies regularly, will end up putting the info right back on again.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

If they shouldn't be on there first off, this is something you can do yourself and for FREE!

If they are items that should legally be on there, she is committing fraud.... however, IF they are accounts older than 7 years or an account that is disputed with the credit bureau and the bureau does NOT check into this within 30 days, they legally have to erase the information from your credit report BUT....

Yes there is a BUT... if the so called company that was erased from your report, reports this information again, it will stay there until either 7 years have passed from the date of last activity or if in fact it is a false account that should not be there in the first place, then you must keep doing the disputes.

What these people do is to keep challenging the reported information until the company that placed it there fails to respond to the challenge. I don't see how they can "guarantee" they will get the report removed, as a lot of lenders and creditors have entire departments full of people to deal with this. You can write letters and make these challenges yourself.

Also there are some kinds of 'bad credit' that stay on your report forever and cannot be removed.

FWIW, it doesn't cost $100 to get a copy of your credit report. Businesses with a need to know (employers often check credit before hiring) and collection agencies can get this info at a significantly reduced cost.

These people are taking advantage of folks who are stupid with their money.

I would stay away from this, sounds like trouble. If someone has a bad credit score and they get it changed to get a loan for car or house they are one of the causes of the present problem. You need to earn that credit score and get credit only if you can make the payments.

You have hit the nail on the head. I wish that the credit agencies, banks and other lenders had even an iota of your common sense and we could have avoided this entire fiasco.

Thanks all I told Ray to tell him to stay away. Hopefully he will take our advice. It would be nice if it was that easy to get your credit fixed.

Should I report this company? I found nothing on them through the better business bureu?

Have you done a search on the company? Usually if you Google the company name if any pending actions or fraud cases are against them, they would show up.

Personally I would stay away and tell your brother too, while it may seem good you did say he's been working with them for years, they probably dispute an item get it taken off because the company didn't get back to them within the 30 day time period but shortly after it returned, thus having him pay another $25 to get it removed again and the process starts all over again and again.

2nd, if you have an incorrect issue on your credit report you can fix this yourself for FREE.
