Default New here, but not to frugality!

    Hi, everyone -

I'm a 40 year old wife and mother living in the suburbs of one of the most expensive areas in the country outside of NY or LA...the Maryland suburbs that surround Washington DC.

It is not easy being frugal in this area. I'm the only one who bring my lunch every day to work, and going "back to school" for my son doesn't involve a complete change of wardrobe. Husband and I live debt free, except for our mortgage. No credit cards, no car loans - nothing. We don't buy what we don't save for, and can't afford in the first place.

It isn't easy - but since cutting the credit card umbilical cord, we are so much happier.

I found this site through StumbleUpon, and liked it so much I decided to check it out.

Welcome. I like your style. I am the lone lunch packer in my office too, but I don't let it bother me. I eat better, healthier food & save money to boot. I don't like to waste my money or calories. We also are debt free except the mortgage. It feels so good!!

Welcome to Frugal Village. I am Lucky that everyone in my office brings their lunch to work and even if they didn't I still would...there is something to be said for being able to know where you food comes from or not being able to blame someone else if you poison yourself with you own cooking .....I am still working on that one.

    Anyhow.........Welcome!
