    Default Long and short months!!

Now I don't mean the actual length of the months.
Do you feel that there are months that just feel longer?
    An example.
September just shot by for me.
I got everything ready for our trip to Canada - worked VERY hard to get the house ready, enough food in the house for my very hungry kids etc. I'm sure that I don't need to explain further about everything that I had to do.

We left for Canada on Sept. 12th and came back on the 27th. By the time that I was home, got caught up with my kids/family and all their stories, caught up with the laundry and cleaning, it was Oct.
Now it is only Oct. 16th and it feels like the month has been going on for years.

I have to admit that even though there are some bad things happening in the family (my father in law has become very sick), I have had a lot of really great things happening too, so I don't think that that has anything to do with it.
I have the same thing with some other months too.
What is this? Is it just me being weird?

Yes, it is just you being weird.

OK, OK, I'm sorry, I had to make this one :-)
This October is a very short month. So much to do, and the month is already half over!

    Sounds about right :-)
Rotterdam has several paintings by Hieronymus Bosch - I envy you for that!

    I think we have.

    Good morning.
I can only be on line for a little bit - my family who is staying with me will be up very soon.
UGH!!! (Did you read my post about regretting family coming to stay? Beware - it will scare you!)

Sorry to interupt you two but to answer the original post...

Yes, it seems the more I have to do, the faster the month goes by. DD has been in school for around 6 weeks, and there are times it feels like it's been 'forever' since September.

I think things start rolling faster for me about this time because I have the 'countdown' to the holidays. Halloween costumes to make, then planning the Thanksgiving dinner, then putting up the tree, Yule, New Years Eve.... and then *slow* again until about May when we get ready for summer vacation which flies by.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I always feel the months of Oct. Nov. And Dec. are too short, they just fly by. Funny thing is with Feb. actually being the shortest month, there have been several times I have felt that month took forever to get through.

It seems to me that the older I get the faster every day/week/month goes. I think the old saying that" life is like a roll of toilet paper - the closer you get to the end, the faster it goes" holds a lot of truth.

Yes, some months (days/hours/weeks/years) seem longer than others. Right now I don't have enough hours in the day it seems.

~January and July seem to go by very slowly for me. I think it's because they fall in the middle of the weather extremes. When it's super hot or cold I get stir crazy inside the house most of the time.~
