    Lady V,

I am sorry for your situation. But let me try to shed a little light at the end of the tunnell. First, he should plan on going to court. He will be allowed to speak, and as for the cop not showing up, thats probably not going to happen, so bank on the officer showing up.

    Three things:

Whether he was in the company van or not, get the speedometer calibrated on the vehicle. Lots of times, they are off and that can be used in court for it to be reduced to improper equipment(and if it WAS the company van, then the improper equipment would be their responsibility).

2nd: Take a driving class so that he can tell the judge he has done so, and therefore leniency may be given.

3rd: This is a biggie, but I have read about it and I would try it if I had the situation you have. Officers have to calibrate their radar, and the judge will ask the cop everytime once in court for each ticket "Officer Billy Bob, did you calibrate your equipment?" And Officer Billy Bob say Yes, your Honor. This is a loophole for you I think. ACTUAL calibration is a technical process with some sort of machine. In order for the officer to have actually calibrated his radar for each and every ticket he gives, he would be incessantly taking his equipment to be properly calibrated, and obviously they dont do this in between each ticket so when Officer Billy Bob say YES he calibrated, what he really means is that he did a self check. He did not have it officially calibrated and because of this, someone who really knows what they are talking about could get out of a ticket this way. Do a little googling and see what you can find.

Good Luck, and Keep your head up.

    Megan
