Default Do you pee in the dark?!!!!

OK, so now that I have your attention!!!
My husband and kids give me so much crap around here, I open the curtains as soon as the first ray of light come out from the sun, turn off all the lights in the house! OK, well I am sure alot of people do that, however, I run around without turning lights on, including going to the bathroom! I have mastered it and I know I am saving us money in power here!!
But hubby asks me, how much do you think it really saves us?....I guess he thinks of it as an inconvenience or something, I dont need alot of light and I cope just fine with it so I dont think of it as a big deal!!!

Is it really that big of a deal? Or is my old man that much of a dork?!!
And I swear to god, all of them seem to think they need 15 lights on just to make it to the frigin bathroom!!!ROFLMAO

I ALWAYS pee in the dark and I have even showered in the dark. I do have a small "light sensitive" night light in there so its not pitch dark but I NEVER turn on a light just to pee.

I pee in the dark too! I usually leave my door slightly ajar anyways. I also take showers and baths in the summertime with no lights on. It's not like I'm going to slip and fall or something.

My DH is the biggest culprit of leaving the light on after he's been in a room. I have to walk behind him and turn them all off.

Well, after watching 4 kids go through the house all day flipping lights on for every little thing (they are good about turning them off, but maybe a little too good because they come up the stairs to get something and turn the light off in the basement, get what they need and turn around and go back into the basement, which means they turn the light back on) I feel it is the least I can do to go to the bathroom in the dark. I do try to use the bathroom upstairs that has a window in it, so I can see what I am doing, just doesn't require me to turn on electricity. At night, I never turn lights on.

I always peed in the dark during the night, the whole family did really. However I have had one frightening experience in the bathroom in the middle of the night one time. We keep our toilet seat down because it's just something that's always been done. When it's not in use the lid goes down, it's been this way for years. However one night, in the black of night, in a sleepy stupor, I went in to pee and somehow I managed to literally forget about the seat being down and I sat down....on the cat...that was sleeping on the lid. Needless to say after that, I put a blue led night light in there just so there's a slight glow in the darkness lol.

I have a streetlight across the street and a big window in my bathroom. I take advantage of the city's energy expenditure. There is enough light filtering into the bathroom that I don't need to turn the light on.

I'm also very myopic so one of the ways I cope is to memorize layouts so I can make my way without killing myself when I don't have my glasses.

Yes, I have been known to do my business in dark places Otherwise my eyes would be turning yellow every time the power goes out around here because I live in a cave with very few windows and none of them in the bathroom.

We have the light-sensitive night light too because I have been awoken one too many times to the sounds of *splash* "Momma, I fell in the toilet!". I know enough to look and honestly, my behind is big enough that I will not be sitting at the bottom of the bowl if the ring was up

The Old Man on the other hand... I insist there is some sort of light. During power outages, I seriously think about sneaking on to the Air Force Base 5 miles away and get the landing lights
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I think its a woman thing, it seems we all do it. Me and both my girls pee in the dark, but I have to admit we have night lights on. Just tiny little lights that don't raise the power bill but it beats having all the big lights on. I hate it when people leave the lights on. If you need it thats one thing, but to leave the room and leave lights on just drives me crazy. I just see it as a total waste.

I don't think I have ever gone to the restroom in the dark. But then again, my house is never dark. One kitchen light, DD's closet light, DS's bathroom light, and DH's closet light are almost always on. Also, in our front living room I leave the lights on along with the front porch light on until around 2:00 to 3:00 in the morning.

Even if we kept our house dark, I would still have to cut the light on to use the restroom. There is no way I could go, wash my hands and dry them in the dark. I need to be able to see the toilet paper, faucet, hand soap, make sure my hand are rinsed all of the way and the hand towel is put back in place..

I pee in the dark in the middle of the night for sure... why waste electricity and wake yourself up at the same time? lol

As for during the day the natural light does just fine too

I can't go to the bathroom in the dark. I need to be able to find the toilet, the paper, the sink, the soap, the towel, the doorknob... Normally there is enough light coming in the window in our upstairs bathroom here, but I went to the bathroom with my eyes closed once at our old house and ended up falling down the stairs.
