Hello From the Midwest

Hi, I am from Davenport, IA. Originally from Harrisburg, PA, but we've been here for 23 years so Davenport is home. I work for the Federal Government and my husband is retired Army and now works part time here and there. I love finding new and cheaper ways to do things. I have been hooked ever since the first Tightwad Gazette came out. There are still ideas from that book that I do routinely.

I recently make my own laundry detergent for about 3 cents per load and even DH was amazed at the results. We like to camp and are still paying off our used RV. I would love to have that and his truck payed off. We paid off my car this year and the house should be paid off in about 4 years. We always add an extra couple hundred a month on just the principal.

I have been married for almost 27 years and have no children. I have had various forms of pet children over the years and current have the cutest dog in the world, Jigsy, and the most idependant cat Alvin.

I am looking forward to getting to know you guys and learning new ways to save a buck.
